Venus & Cupid Cross-Bay Walk 2020: POSTPONED till End of August

Welcome to the Venus & Cupid Arts Trust Cross-Bay Walk 2020.
The walk originally scheduled for Sunday 3rd May has been postponed to the last weekend of August.
Precise date (29th or 30th) and timings are yet to be finalised.
Start: Arnside
Finish: Kent’s Bank
The walk starts at Arnside Promenade, crossing the sands to Kent’s Bank, 2 miles west of Grange-over-Sands. It is about 8-10 miles long and generally takes 3 to 4 hours. Most of the terrain is sandy, but there are soft, muddy spots, and one or two of the main channels can be up to thigh-deep in water.
Costs
The basic charge is £12 per adult, £9 for children 16-17, £7 for children under 16 years. *
Discounts for parties of three or more people, all booked and paid for as a single party:
Adult: £10. 16-17 years: £7. Child (11-15): £5. (max. 2 children under 16 per adult, see note below *)
Transport
- We will run a return coach from Kents Bank to Arnside, Carnforth and Morecambe. Fare £5 per head.
- Northern Rail regular train service Kents Bank to Grange, Arnside, Silverdale, Carnforth and Lancaster – can be crowded !

In case the Coronavirus outbreak leads to further postponement, we are NOT accepting payment until we are sure that the event will take place on the date announced.
All you need to do right now is to register your interest, as detailed below. We shall send an email asking for payment as soon as we know that the event will definitely take place.

Lancaster dep. .., Carnforth ….., Silverdale ….., Arnside arr. …… Connection at Carnforth from the Bentham line and Leeds.
Barrow dep. ….., Ulverston ….., Kent’s Bank ….., Grange ….., Arnside arr. …..
After the walk: Trains leave Kents Bank at ….. for Grange, Arnside, Silverdale, Carnforth and Lancaster. The ….. trains connect with trains to Leeds.
And from Kent’s Bank trains at ….. for Ulverston and Barrow.
BUT please check with Northern Rail the day before because, as there have been weekend cancellations!
